The Wye Conservatory of Music was established by Wye Parish in 2010 to enhance and expand the existing music program and to bring music to our community.
Through the conservatory, the parish has developed a Choral Scholars program to train and encourage young voices. Scholars receive instruction in music theory, sight reading, language pronunciation, music history, and study and perform a wide variety of choral music with the Wye Parish Choir. Choral Scholars also are given the opportunity to perform solo pieces at one of the parish churches when the choir is not present.
The second program is the Wye Youth Chorale. The Chorale is for young students who like to sing and perform, even beyond their schooling programs. Such students may or may not have any musical experience, but are open to the challenge and learning of ensemble singing. The Wye Youth Chorale is open to students, grades 4-7, for the year’s choir season beginning in October and ending in May. The Chorale will learn a variety of repertoire to be performed at concerts throughout the year.
